Our Process:
PATIENT ASSESSMENT:
- Assess the need for genetic testing and fill out the appropriate requisition form.
FORM SUBMISSION:
- Doctors can send the completed requisition form to Medical Labs of Windsor for review. Upload online.
FORM REVIEW:
- We meticulously review the forms to ensure all necessary information is included. If any details are missing, we promptly contact the requesting doctor for corrections.
APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING:
- Once the form is complete, we call the patient to schedule an appointment for sample collection at our lab.
SAMPLE COLLECTION:
- The patient visits our lab for a quick and professional sample collection.
TESTING AT REFERENCE LABS:
- We send the collected samples to our trusted reference labs or hospitals for comprehensive genetic testing.
GETTING YOUR RESULTS:
- The reference labs analyze the samples and send the results directly the requesting physician.

Physician’s Genetic Testing FAQs
What do I need to send the Laboratory if I am ordering Genetic testing?
- All cytogenetic, molecular genetic, and DNA testing requires an appointment for the patient.
- We require a requisition from the testing hospital where you would like the genetic testing to be sent (i.e. London Health Science Centre, Sick Kids, CHEO or Kingston General Hospital). All forms are in our Genetic Form Library.
- All information including patient information, physician information, and tests requested must be completely filled out.
- Please upload the hospital requisitions through our website or fax it to our Client Services department at 519-258-9505. We will call the patient to book an appointment. If you have any questions, please call 519-258-1991 Ext. 234.

Where and when can my patients obtain genetic testing?
- After we receive the completed hospital requisitions we will contact the patient for an appointment.

How do I get the patient's results?
Hospitals will send results directly to you. They do not send them to Medical Laboratories of Windsor.
